the Royal Borough of Greenwich has made an order for a directional road closure at Sladedale Road, to facilitate ID Partnerships Ltd, to provide a compound and new sewer connection to facilitate the new residential development.

The Order would come into force 7th May 2024 The works are expected to take 12 months.

On Thursday 4 July there will be a General Election to elect new MPs.

To vote in this election, you will need to:

  • be eligible and registered to vote

  • know how you’re voting, whether it’s in person, by proxy or by post

  • have a valid form of ID if you are voting in person.

Debbie Warren, Chief Executive of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: “Our Council is committed to making sure all of those who are eligible to vote are able to exercise their right to vote. If you’re not already registered to vote, be sure to do so and put together a voting plan as soon as possible.”

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has made an emergency order for a road closure at Lakedale Road to facilitate Thames Water who are carrying out repair and maintenance works on a sewer pipe.

The Order came into force on 14th April 2024. The works are expected to take at least 60 days.

Road Closure

This notice is to inform you of a carriageway resurfacing scheme being delivered in Plumstead & Glyndon Ward during August 2023.

The carriageway resurfacing of Plumstead High Street (from Abery Street to Barth Road) and Lakedale Road (from Plumstead High Street to Brewery Road) is scheduled to start on the 21st August 2023 and is expected to take four consecutive nights to complete under a road closure. Resurfacing works will take place at night between the hours of 20:00 – 05:00 with signed traffic diversions in place. The scheme could be subject to delays if we encounter any unforeseen circumstances or poor weather. 

All local stakeholders including the London Fire Brigade and Transport for London Buses have been consulted during the planning of the work.

Woolwich Ferry Closure

Woolwich Ferry Closure

This month the Woolwich Ferry will close down for 6 weeks as we complete essential refurbishment work to the fleet which has to be taken into dry dock to be completed. These activities are legal requirements that must be adhered to before the end of October 2023 to maintain our vessels' license and ensure the continued safe operation of the service for many years to come.
