Ward Budgets
The Ward Budget Scheme is now open! Applications are welcome from community and voluntary groups, charities and schools that benefit residents.

Applications must focus on specific projects in the ward which may include:
specific items or activities to support local community groups
environmental projects to improve and enhance the public realm
connecting communities to help reduce social isolation, bringing people together through community engagement and events
initiatives that support and promote community safety
activities that encourage and promote healthier communities
How to apply
The Ward Budget Scheme opened for applications on 1 September 2022. If you have a proposal in mind or an idea for a local project which might benefit from a small contribution, please contact your local councillors by clicking the button below.

GAIN Event
Local mental health charity GAIN (Greenwich Area Involvement Network) would like to invite you to an online event on 1st November at 6pm. GAIN is working to build a fuller picture of how people in our borough experience wellbeing and mental health, and people’s experiences of using mental health services.
They are particularly keen to engage with those whose voices are not always heard. The event is open to all individuals, professionals, volunteers and community groups. We will be asking the question “what can we do to improve mental health in Greenwich”.
Voice and Engagement Officer Myles Thorpe is running a survey and collating responses so that service providers can have a better picture of people’s experiences.
Please feel free to share the survey link and the invitation with anyone, or any groups, you think might be interested.
🏘️Speranza Street 🏘️
Work is taking place in Speranza Street Plumstead to make way for 17 new net zero-carbon council homes. The former Plumstead Leisure Centre (now replaced by the award-winning Council-built Plumstead Centre) was knocked down.
The Speranza Street scheme consists of two one-bedroom flats, two wheelchair-adapted bungalows and 13 two and three-bedroom houses. A children’s play area is also incorporated in the design. Tenants of the Speranza Street development will benefit from living next door to the Plumstead Centre, which opened in 2020 following a multi-million pound investment by the Council, as part of a package of regeneration initiatives in Plumstead. Housed in a Grade II listed building, it is home to a leisure centre, community rooms, café and new library.
