Cycle Lane Closure


The Royal Borough of Greenwich has made an order for a road closure at Walmer Terrace and a Cycle Lane closure in Plumstead Road, to facilitate works by BAM NUTTALL LTD who need to carry out improvement works on the train station.

The Order would come into force on the 1st May 2023, The works are expected to take 11 months.

(All Planned Orders can be in force for up to 18 month’s if necessary or untill the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner).

The effect of the Order would be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering, exiting, proceeding or waiting (including waiting for the purposes of loading or unloading), in Walmer Terrace.

Walmer Terrace will be closed from the junction of Plumstead Road to Southport Road  ( this will be weekend night works only throughout the 11 month period but not every weekend, advance signs will be displaid and local residents will be notified )

The Diversionary route will be by the placing of the appropriate signage.

Plumstead Road cycle Lane outside the train Station will be closed during the 11 month period, cyclists will need to dismount.
